The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Antonio Milošoski, held a briefing today with the ambassadors of the member and observer states of the Council of Europe resident in the Republic of Macedonia. At the briefing, Minister Milošoski presented the priorities of our Chairmanship with the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, which will be chaired by the Republic of Macedonia in the next six months, starting from May 11, 2010. The activities planned for this period were also discussed at the briefing.
The priorities of the Macedonian Chairmanship concern three thematic areas – strengthening the human rights protection, fostering integration while respecting diversity and promoting youth participation in the political and democratic development of the Southeast European countries.
During its Chairmanship, the Republic of Macedonia will organize a number of events which will include the Council of Europe’s topical issues, which are also related to our three chief priorities. |
